Bishop David Oyedepo, Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has recounted a startling incident from 1987 in Kaduna, where marijuana was allegedly planted in his car in an attempt to frame him.
In a recently circulated video, Oyedepo explained that the discovery came through his former driver, Clifford, who returned from Katsina and insisted on cleaning the car that morning. While removing the car seat—a step Oyedepo noted was unusual for a routine wash—Clifford found a freshly wrapped package hidden beneath.
Initially mistaking it for herbs his wife cultivated at home, Oyedepo soon learned from Clifford that it was marijuana. Having embraced Christianity early in life, he said he had no prior knowledge of hard drugs or their appearance.
The situation escalated later that evening when police officers stopped him while driving home and requested to search his car. Oyedepo stated that they went directly to the location where the substance had been planted, but confident that the trap had failed, he rebuked the officers, who reportedly apologized.
Reflecting on the experience, Oyedepo described it as a demonstration of divine protection and warned that many innocent people fall victim to similar malicious schemes. He urged individuals to cultivate a close relationship with God early in life, emphasizing that spiritual guidance can help shield them from harm.
