Members of the public have apprehended a man after he attempted to s3xually assault a 6-year-old girl in South Africa.
The incident occurred in Waterloo, KZN on Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2026.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the minor was playing with other kids when the suspect allegedly dragged her into a nearby bush.
He covered her mouth with his hand and instructed her not to scream but she managed to bite him and called for help.
“Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene following reports of an incident involving a six (6) year old female,” RUSA said.
“According to the minor, she was playing near a roadway with other children when the male approached her and allegedly dragged her into nearby bushes.
“He covered her mouth with his hand and instructed her not to scream.
“The child managed to bite the alleged perpetrator’s hand and call for assistance.
“Two (2) individuals witnessed the man exiting the bushes with the minor and apprehended him at the scene.
“The suspect sustained injuries to his leg during the apprehension.”
