Dr. Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), has called on Christians to engage in deep, destiny-focused prayer, urging believers to seek God’s guidance in discovering their true purpose.
Speaking during a recent YouTube sermon, Olukoya stressed that personal limitations should not hinder one’s potential. “Don’t allow what you cannot do to stop what you can do,” he said, referencing the famous inventor of the light bulb who, despite being nearly deaf, refused to let his condition hinder innovation. He encouraged believers not to be limited by education, physical ability, or other perceived restrictions.
A central theme of his message was self-knowledge. Olukoya noted that many struggle not because of lack of talent, but because they have not discovered who God intended them to be. He highlighted a crucial prayer every believer should incorporate: “Father, where am I? Father, show me the secrets of my life. Father, where should I throw my net in the ocean of life? Father, what am I supposed to be doing here?” According to him, when God reveals one’s true identity, the experience can be deeply transformative.
Using practical examples, Olukoya explained that some individuals are misaligned with their divine purpose—such as a person called to be an employer or “environmental transformer” working in roles that do not reflect their destiny. He emphasized that prayer can help believers realign with their God-given purpose.
Concluding his sermon, the MFM founder led a prayer against forces that obstruct destiny: “Every arrow fired into your destiny, I command the arrows to backfire in the name of Jesus!” He encouraged Christians to pursue destiny discovery with courage, clarity, and persistent prayer.
