Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has declared that Iran successfully defeated decades of strategic planning by the United States and Israel during the recent Twelve-Day War. Speaking in a televised address on November 27, 2025, Khamenei described the aggressors’ campaign as a comprehensive failure.
According to reports by the Iranian News Agency (IRNA), Khamenei said Israel had allegedly been preparing for nearly 20 years to provoke internal unrest in Iran and turn the population against the Islamic Republic. “They planned for twenty years to trigger a war and rally the people to their side. But they achieved none of their objectives,” he stated.
Khamenei added that despite deploying advanced military equipment, including submarines, fighter jets, and sophisticated defense systems, the United States failed to secure any strategic gains. “Even with the most modern offensive and defensive equipment, they could not mislead our people or force a change in their stance. Instead, national unity grew stronger, and the Americans themselves faced unexpected losses,” he said.
While acknowledging that Iran also suffered casualties, the Leader emphasised that the Islamic Republic proved its resilience and ability to act decisively. He also paid tribute to the Basij forces, praising their faith, dedication, and role in supporting resistance movements and vulnerable communities worldwide.
Khamenei further condemned the ongoing conflict in Gaza, describing it as a genocide and highlighting the United States’ growing isolation due to its unwavering support for Israel. He dismissed reports claiming that Iran secretly communicated with Washington through regional intermediaries, calling such claims “a complete lie.”
