Former Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to comments made by Zamfara State lawmaker Senator Abdul Aziz Yari, who argued that former U.S. President Donald Trump cannot solve Nigeria’s problems better than Nigerians themselves.
Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State and the current representative of the Zamfara West senatorial district, drew widespread attention after stating that Nigeria is not less blessed than the United States. He noted that the country has survived major crises caused by internal challenges and should not depend on foreign figures for solutions.
“Don’t call Trump; it’s a matter for Nigerians. He has no role in Nigeria and cannot address its problems better than Nigerians can,” Yari said. His remarks circulated widely on X, prompting a response from Fani-Kayode.
In a post shared on December 3, 2025, Fani-Kayode expressed agreement with Yari, stressing that Nigeria’s issues must be resolved internally and not through foreign intervention. He has long opposed external military involvement in the country’s security affairs.
