borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has called on residents across all local government areas to observe a day of fasting on Monday, 24th November 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the state. The announcement was made during a public address on Friday.
Governor Zulum emphasized that the initiative transcends religion and ethnicity, urging every community, family, religious institution, and traditional ruler to participate. “I declare Monday, 24th November 2025, a State-wide Fasting for the restoration of peace in Borno and the nation entirely,” he said, highlighting the importance of collective spiritual engagement alongside government and military efforts to maintain security.
The governor encouraged residents to remain resilient despite the long-standing challenges posed by insurgency and displacement, expressing optimism that unity, prayer, and support for security forces would help Borno regain peace and prosperity.
