Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has reacted to Peter Obi’s recent announcement that he is resigning from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The former Labour Party presidential candidate took to his X handle on Sunday to reveal his decision to leave the ADC. He cited internal conflicts within the party, which he said have led to deep divisions and persistent court cases.
He said: “The same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.”
Reacting to the development, Bayo Onanuga strongly criticised Peter Obi’s decision to resign from the ADC. In a post on his X handle, he took a swipe at the former Anambra State governor, describing him as an opportunistic politician who lacks firmness.
He further argued that Obi may have stepped down because he could not compete with political heavyweights like Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi for the ADC presidential ticket, suggesting that this influenced his decision to leave the party.
He wrote: “Peter Obi is a politician made of jelly, an opportunistic fellow. He can’t fight Atiku or Amaechi for the ticket of ADC. He pursues the easy road, that will only lead him to doom, like in 2023.”…Read_More…
