Primate Elijah Ayodele has cautioned that the United States may exert significant pressure on Honduras’ political leadership, warning that failure to align with American preferences could have serious consequences.
In a recent Facebook video, the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church leader stated that Washington may withdraw support if its preferred candidate is not elected in Honduras. He described the move as part of a broader trend in which powerful nations seek to influence leadership in several countries across the region.
Ayodele highlighted Honduras as a country likely to experience direct international pressure, particularly during the next presidential election. He also noted that similar interference could affect other nations, including Venezuela, and stressed that the period between 2026 and 2027 may bring accelerated elections, political shifts, and heightened global tension.
The cleric further warned that countries resisting alignment with major powers might face diplomatic, economic, or security challenges. He urged governments to act strategically, stay alert, and avoid complacency amid rapidly evolving international politics.
