A man by the name of Enesto from Tanzania has narrated how he has married 20 wives, among them seven sisters, and has 104 children and 144 grandchildren. They all live happily in one homestead.
According to him, he married his first wife when he was 25. After they had their first child, his father asked him to marry more wives to keep his legacy, and he obeyed.
He says that for the first five wives, his father paid the dowry, while for the rest, he has been the one handling it. Among the 20 wives, seven are sisters. After the first sister got married as his second wife, she invited her sisters to visit. Over time, he married them one by one until he had married all seven.
He says that he has built each wife a house, and each one cooks for her own children, which brings harmony to the family. They all engage in farming, as he owns a thousand acres of land, making it easier to have enough food for the entire household.
Some of his children have grown up, started their own families, and moved to the city. Enesto admits that he can only recall 50 of his children’s names, while he recognizes the others by their faces.
He says they all live happily, and whenever they have disputes, they sit down and talk things out. He believes that even after he is long gone, his family will remain united to continue building the empire he started. Now in his 70s, Enesto says he is no longer interested in marrying again.
