He explained that while polygamy is not legally recognized under Congolese law, his church permits it, citing biblical references.
Prosper revealed that when he informed his family and relatives about his intention to marry three women at once, they were initially surprised. However, his father encouraged him to proceed if he could provide for all three. The extended family fully supported him, contributing financially to cover the bride price for each woman.
According to the wives, the arrangement has been positive. One explained that having a husband with multiple wives allows for shared responsibilities, especially after childbirth. Another expressed comfort with the arrangement and even support if Prosper decides to add a fourth wife. The third wife noted that the union reduces the likelihood of infidelity and promotes harmony within the marriage.
