After losing her mother, Grace was raised by her grandmother and completed only primary education. She later worked as a house help and married a man who later proved to be abusive and struggled with alcoholism. The couple had two children before Grace left the marriage.
With the help of a friend, she sought employment but was introduced to sex work. During the Safari Rally, she accepted a client who promised to pay her 5,000 shillings. The client refused to use protection and gave her additional money along with a tablet, which she was instructed to take. Grace fell unconscious and was only brought to a hospital four days later, where she received treatment.
Subsequent testing revealed that she had contracted HIV. Grace now regrets her decisions, emphasizing the risks involved in unprotected sexual activity despite short-term financial gain.
