Kanu: They Even Accused Him Of Killing Gulak While He Was In Detention —Sowore Reveals What He Knows

Omoyele Sowore, founder of Sahara Reporters, raised concerns over the fairness of Nnamdi Kanu’s trial during an interview on Arise Television on Saturday, November 29, 2025. He argued that much of the evidence presented in court was unsubstantiated and that some allegations were impossible given Kanu’s detention circumstances.

Sowore specifically referenced claims that Kanu was accused of killing Gulak while in DSS custody. He explained, “I know something about being in DSS detention. You have zero access to communication. Even if you do, if you smuggle something, they have a way of monitoring you.” He questioned how such charges could justify a death sentence, noting that a Boko Haram commander received a 20-year prison term for terrorism.

The activist criticised what he termed “selective justice” in Nigeria, suggesting that some individuals enjoy privileges while others are disproportionately punished. He said, “Until justice applies to everybody in Nigeria, you are not going to get peace without justice. That’s what so many of us have been saying, whether you like to hear it or not.”

Sowore added that the consequences of unequal application of the law are now evident, particularly to those who previously dismissed concerns. He further alleged that violent actors with institutional backing continue to evade accountability. Your phone could be secretly spying on you.
