Man arrested for stabbing relative in the eyes with scissors

The police have arrested a 55-year-old man for allegedly stabbing a family member in both eyes with a pair of scissors during a domestic altercation in Sefwi Abrokofe.

The suspect, William Gyamfi, also known as Kwasi Manso, is said to have assaulted the victim, Akua Agyeiwaa, who is believed to be in her early 50s, following a disagreement between them.

The assault resulted in critical injuries to the woman, necessitating her immediate transfer to the Juaboso Government Hospital for urgent medical care.

Upon receiving a report regarding the incident, police dispatched a patrol unit to the area to detain the suspect, who several residents reportedly attacked.

At the moment of his arrest, Gyamfi exhibited visible injuries, including a swollen left eye and forehead, along with bleeding on his left leg.

He received treatment at the Juaboso Government Hospital and was subsequently discharged.

The police have confirmed that William Gyamfi is presently in custody and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation into the incident.

In the meantime, some members of the community assert that the suspect has a history of violent conduct, including a prior cutlass assault on his brother-in-law.

Residents are calling on the police to conduct thorough investigations and prosecute the suspect as a deterrent.
