A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Tayo Sobowale, has been accused of attempted r@pe by a young lady in front of an entire congregation.
The pastor was at the podium for a church event at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, when a young lady in the congregation took the microphone to recount a time the pastor was allegedly inappropriate with her.
She narrated how he sent her to buy pounded yam and egusi soup and she gave an excuse because she knew “this man is trying something again”.
“Do you rememeber that?” She asked the pastor as she made the allegations.
She said she gave him an excuse that she was busy but he said he would wait until she was free.
She said she eventually bought the food and when she took it to him at the “Upper Room”, she claims he was “all over me”.
“You were trying to r@pe me. I kept closing my leg, I was telling you no,” she said. “You did it to the extent that you now said ‘OK. Wait’. You stopped and then you now asked me to give you head.
“You don’t remember that?”
She claimed that she then asked the pastor on that day if he touches others the way he touches her and the pastor allegedly asked her if she thinks the other girls who hang around him are virgins.
She said he then mentioned the likes of “Sister Rachel and co”.
“You don’t remember that? I’m lying? Lie that I’m lying,” she told the pastor.
The church erupted in gasps of shock at this point.
The pastor then stood and collected the microphone to address the congregation.
He said: “She has told it right? And the story is sweet. Let me ask her a question…”
The video then cuts off at this point.
Before the video emerged, an X user has made multiple tweets accusing the same pastor of r@ping multiple girls. Film maker @TheDapoEko claimed Pastor Tayo Sobowale r@ped his female friend. He further alleged that “10-15 girls” have accused the pastor.
None of the allegations have been proven.
