A lady has publicly appealed for help over the continued detention of her younger brother, whom she said was arrested at age 14 during a police raid in 2023.
According to her, the family had initially believed he was missing until they later received information that he was being held at a police station alongside others picked up during the raid.
She alleged that while the others arrested with him were eventually released, her brother remained in custody and was later moved to Kirikiri Medium Security Custodial Centre in Mile 2.
The lady claimed that despite a police officer allegedly testifying in court that her brother committed no offence, the case has continued to face repeated adjournments since 2023.
She also said the family was asked to provide ₦150,000 for bail but they have been unable to afford it.
According to her, her brother was only a child when the ordeal began and is now close to turning 17.
