Popular Yoruba actress Habibat Jinad has opened up about the harrowing abuse she suffered in her previous marriage. In a recent interview shared on iambimpeakintunde’s official Instagram page, she revealed how her ex-husband repeatedly assaulted her—and how the violence escalated to the point where even his younger brother physically attacked her, ultimately knocking out her teeth.
Recalling her painful experience, Habibat warned women about the dangers of marrying into a toxic family.
“My advice to women looking to get married is to pray not to end up with a bad family. My ex-husband’s family was incredibly tough and wicked. Even though my ex-husband had his flaws, he was still a good person in some ways. But at some point, things started to change between us, and I kept wondering what went wrong. He became violent, constantly beating me. It got so bad that even his younger brother started hitting me—and in one of those incidents, he knocked out my teeth.”
Her story serves as a chilling reminder of the struggles many women face in abusive marriages.
