Popular Yoruba movie actress, Lizzy Anjorin, has opened up about how her ex-husband’s uncle rejected her when he took her home for marriage. She also shared her experience with her ex-husband’s mother when she got pregnant.
In an interview on the official YouTube channel With Chude, Lizzy revealed that her ex-husband’s uncle disapproved of their relationship because of her humble beginnings as a restaurant worker. She recounted the struggles she faced and the rejection she endured.
She said:
*”When my mother couldn’t afford to pay my tuition fee anymore, I told her I wanted to start working, and she agreed. I began washing plates in a restaurant, and it was there I met a young man who proposed to me. Eventually, I got pregnant for him. When my husband took me to his uncle, he rejected me because I washed plates for a living.
However, when I met his mother, she was happy to see me and even asked me to follow her to another state, where I helped her manage one of her shops. Later, I decided to move back to Lagos and left my child with my ex-husband’s mother to focus on rebuilding my life.”*
