According to Daily Trust, Major General Warrah Idris made the pledge on Saturday, November 29, 2025, during a ceremony in Gusau, Zamfara State, where he decorated newly promoted soldiers of Operation Hadarin Dama (OPHD). He emphasised that the intensified mobile operations are crucial for the swift and effective execution of missions across the North West, including parts of Kwara and Niger States.
General Idris used the occasion to motivate the promoted personnel, highlighting that their advancement should inspire greater courage and gallantry in tackling terrorism and banditry. He called on the troops to maintain high standards of discipline, operational skill, and professionalism in executing their duties.
He congratulated the promoted soldiers, acknowledging their commendable field performance, and encouraged them to continue demonstrating unwavering commitment to their responsibilities. The Commander also extended gratitude to the families of the decorated personnel, noting their prayers and support as vital to the soldiers’ dedication and success.
The ceremony recognised promotions from Lance Corporal up to Master Warrant Officer, highlighting professionalism, exemplary service, and commitment to operational excellence.
