Former Governor Ayo Fayose has spoken about a verbal altercation he had with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
In an exclusive interview with AF24 News Stories, Fayose said the incident happened at the home of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola during a thanksgiving ceremony attended by several top political figures such as Babangida, Obasanjo and the late former Governor Akala.
Fayose said that when he entered the room, he began greeting everyone normally until Akala told him that “Baba” was also in the room. Fayose said he asked which “Baba” Akala was talking about and Obasanjo immediately called him (Fayose) a bastard.
Fayose stated that he fired back immediately, telling Obasanjo that he too was a “bastard” and “the father of all bastards.
In Fayose’s words: “I remember when we went to Governor Oyinlola at his residence in Ogun when he was doing thanksgiving. The former Head of State Ibrahim Babangida was seated, Akala was alive. I entered the room, I was greeting everybody. Akala now said Baba was seated and I said which Baba? Baba (Obasanjo) now said ‘He cannot greet me, he is a bastard’ That is me. I said ‘You too Obasanjo you are a bastard, you are the father of all the bastards'”
