Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a close ally of former Minister of Transportation Chibuike Amaechi, has criticized Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole for targeting Amaechi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. The comments follow Oshiomhole’s recent appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” where he questioned Amaechi’s performance and decisions during his tenure.

Oshiomhole described Amaechi as “the most terrible” and accused him of mismanaging Nigeria’s rail system. He also questioned why Amaechi prioritized a rail line to the Niger Republic while Rivers State, his home state, lacked rail infrastructure. Additionally, Oshiomhole suggested that Amaechi’s contribution to the APC’s 2015 electoral success was overstated.

In response, Eze stated that Oshiomhole and his allies are frustrated over potential political setbacks. He accused the senator of benefiting from political protection under President Bola Tinubu while avoiding accountability. “Oshiomhole is one of those who, by their penchant, should be behind bars if the systems were working in Nigeria, but instead, he’s currently serving as one of the puppet senators of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, just to evade prosecution,” Eze said.

Eze praised Amaechi as a leader committed to transparency, due process, and national development. He said, “Amaechi speaks truth to power because he has no cockroach hidden in his cupboard,” and added that critics like Oshiomhole should focus their energy elsewhere. Eze also highlighted Amaechi’s transformative work in revitalizing the country’s rail system and noted that the former minister’s development blueprint continues to influence projects across the South-South, South-East, and North-East regions.

On the judiciary controversy during Amaechi’s governorship, Eze clarified that actions taken were constitutional responses to alleged attempts to remove a sitting governor with insufficient legislative backing. He further reminded Oshiomhole of his own political history, including being the first national chairman of a political party to face impeachment by his ward.
