Ovie Success Ossai, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, has publicly criticized former Peter Obi, asserting that the politician’s move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has left him hopeless.
In a statement released on Monday, April 27, 2026, Ossai suggested that Obi is already reconsidering his political affiliation as his current aspirations stall.
“Peter Obi is now hopeless in the ADC,” Ossai wrote. “By now, he will be thinking of which party he will be joining. All hope is lost and he is currently disappointed. I feel for him, but I am disappointed in his choices.”
These remarks come as Nigerian opposition forces attempt to negotiate a mega party coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The coalition’s primary objective is to field a single, unified candidate to prevent a split vote.
Within this framework, Obi has signaled a willingness to serve only a single term to provide a stable transition and balance regional interests.
However, the alliance faces significant internal friction.
The path to a unified front is complicated by allegations that the ADC-led coalition may be a Trojan horse intended to facilitate the presidential ambitions of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Critics contend that the coalition’s structure is being systematically aligned to favor Atiku, sparking skepticism about the alliance’s longevity.
