A leading Iranian academic has issued a stark warning following a fresh escalation in the Gulf, shortly after US forces reportedly seized an Iranian vessel near the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on his verified social media account, Seyed Mohammed Marandi—Professor of English Literature and Orientalism at the University of Tehran—called for immediate evacuation from several Gulf countries, naming the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.
He also urged maritime crews operating in the Persian Gulf to prepare for emergency evacuation, particularly vessels positioned close to the Strait of Hormuz, which he suggested could face immediate danger.
