Nigerian prophet Primate Elijah Ayodele has called on security agencies to take decisive action against terrorists reportedly planning attacks on military formations, barracks, and personnel across the country. In a Facebook video, he warned that the threat is imminent and urged heightened vigilance to prevent potential assaults.
Ayodele cautioned military personnel against predictable movements, advising against traveling in small, routine groups. He stressed the urgency of confronting the threat directly, saying, “Use every arsenal within our path. Apply airstrike. Use drones. It is time to destroy this terror. Destroy them.” The prophet rejected negotiations or amnesty for armed groups, warning that such measures would only embolden terrorists.
Highlighting Nigeria’s vulnerability, Ayodele said, “If this government is not serious, it might be difficult… We don’t need to deceive anybody on this insecurity.” He emphasized that reliance on dialogue or concessions could escalate violence, putting the country on “red alert” if immediate and coordinated action is not taken.
Security analysts note that attacks on military facilities often signal rising boldness among extremist groups, making Ayodele’s warning particularly significant. While the Nigerian military has intensified operations in several hotspots, the prophet urged stronger political will and strategic clarity to prevent further escalation.
Ayodele concluded with reassurance, saying that proactive measures could safeguard the nation, affirming, “Nigeria will survive.”
