Johnson Suleman, senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, has urged his congregation to constantly seek new heights in life and avoid being limited by past successes. Speaking during a recent service, he emphasized that the biggest obstacle to reaching one’s next level is often one’s previous achievement.
“There’s a new level. The last achievement you have is your biggest enemy when you want to advance. Whenever you want to progress, please commonize your trophy,” Suleman said.
The pastor shared a personal anecdote to illustrate his message. He recounted how one of his sons, after completing his first and second degrees, approached him upon finishing his PhD. “One of my son finished school first degree. He did second degree. He said, Dad, I’m going to do my PhD.” Did his PhD, He came to me and shook him, I hugged him, I shook his hand and asked, ‘What next?’ He said, ‘What next, Dad? Is there anything next?’ I told him, ‘Are you dying now? Advance, increase, get to the zenith, get to the top,'” he recalled.
Suleman stressed the importance of continual growth, linking spiritual alignment with personal development. “Am I communicating here? Because you are carrying Christ. If you know when Jesus leaves a man, he returns back to square one,” he explained, highlighting that resting on past accomplishments can hinder progress.
He encouraged members to maintain momentum in every area of life, whether in education, career, or spiritual pursuit. “Do not settle. Always ask yourself, ‘What next?’ Life is about expansion, not stagnation,” Suleman urged.
The pastor’s message resonated with attendees, many of whom took to social media to share reflections on the importance of pushing beyond previous milestones. His counsel reinforced a recurring theme in his ministry: that spiritual life and personal advancement are interconnected, and believers must continuously strive to reach higher levels in all spheres of life.
