“Whenever You See Trump Clapping For This Government, He Has Milked Us Dry–Galadima

NNPP chieftain Buba Galadima has sharply criticised the Federal Government’s handling of insecurity in Nigeria, calling the current approach ineffective and lacking the necessary intelligence, technology, and seriousness to combat terrorism. His comments were made during an interview with AIT, as reported by Daily Post on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Galadima noted that repeated calls for rapid recruitment of police personnel have created confusion about the government’s strategy, undermining public confidence in its ability to address insurgency. He contrasted the current approach with former President Goodluck Jonathan’s decisive operations against Boko Haram, suggesting that swift, focused interventions are essential to contain terrorism.

The NNPP leader further highlighted the government’s failure to deploy advanced surveillance tools, despite terrorist groups reportedly possessing sophisticated monitoring equipment. He cited the killing of Brigadier General Musa Uba as an example of operational gaps and emphasized that merely increasing personnel cannot defeat terrorism without proper coordination, intelligence gathering, and technological support.

Addressing international perspectives, Galadima advised the government to consider foreign comments seriously, including those of U.S. President Donald Trump, but warned against overreacting or compromising national interests. “My fear is that out of fear they can cede the whole of Nigeria to Trump. Trump will not strike. You will soon see. Whenever you see Trump clapping for this government, he has milked us dry,” he stated, underscoring the need for Nigeria to focus on strengthening its security framework independently.
