American pop star Billie Eilish has once again stirred conversation online after sharing a strong personal belief about food choices and animal welfare, insisting that people cannot genuinely claim to love animals while still consuming meat.

The Grammy-winning singer made the statement during a recent interactive session with Elle, where she responded to fan questions while promoting her upcoming tour film Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), a project she co-directed alongside filmmaker James Cameron.

When asked to share an opinion she feels strongly about, Eilish acknowledged that her stance might not sit well with everyone, but chose to express it regardless.

“Y’all not going to like me for this one,” she said before making her point clear.

“Eating meat is inherently wrong. And another thing is: two things cannot coincide. ‘I love animals,’ and ‘I eat meat.’”

She went on to emphasise her belief that the two ideas contradict each other, adding, “It’s just… You can’t do both. Sorry. You can eat meat, go for it. You can love animals, but you can’t do both.”

Her remarks quickly gained traction online, drawing mixed reactions from fans and the wider public. While some supported her perspective and praised her consistency as a longtime vegan, others disagreed, arguing that people can care about animals while still maintaining dietary choices that include meat.

Eilish has been vocal about her vegan lifestyle for years, often using her platform to advocate for animal rights and environmental awareness. Her comments reflect a broader conversation around ethical eating, sustainability, and personal values—topics that continue to divide opinion globally.

The singer first gained widespread attention after releasing her breakout track Ocean Eyes in 2015, a song she created with her brother Finneas O’Connell. Since then, she has built a reputation not only for her distinctive sound but also for her willingness to speak openly on social issues.

Her rise to international fame reached a major milestone in 2020 when she swept five of the biggest categories at the Grammy Awards, becoming one of the youngest artists to achieve such a feat. Over the years, she has also received multiple honours, including American Music Awards, a Golden Globe, and several Guinness World Records.

Beyond her music, Eilish has consistently used interviews and public appearances to share her views on topics ranging from mental health to identity. In a previous interview in 2024, she spoke candidly about her sexuality, revealing that she had long been attracted to women and is now more comfortable expressing that part of herself publicly.

Her latest comments on meat consumption add to a growing list of outspoken positions that have shaped her public image as an artist unafraid to challenge mainstream thinking.

As discussions continue online, her statement has once again highlighted how celebrity opinions can influence broader cultural conversations—especially on issues tied to lifestyle, ethics, and personal belief systems.
