Nollywood actor Mike Godson has dismissed viral claims suggesting he is expecting a child with singer Yemi Alade, describing the reports as false and misleading.
The rumours, which circulated widely online, alleged that the actor had taken responsibility for a supposed pregnancy involving the Afrobeats star. However, Godson has firmly denied any such development.
Reacting to the speculation, the actor expressed frustration over what he described as repeated attempts to drag his name into unfounded controversies. He noted that people often mistake his quiet nature for weakness, which, according to him, encourages false narratives.
“People mistake my silence for weakness,” he wrote, addressing the situation directly.
Godson recalled a previous incident where similar allegations were made about him, referencing claims that he was expecting twins with an American woman. He said the report was false but chose to ignore it at the time.
“Some years ago, Linda Ikeji put out a false narrative about me, misleading the public, saying I was expecting twins with an American woman, knowing full well the legal implications of such a false allegation, but I let that slide,” he stated.
The actor explained that despite the potential damage such stories could cause to his reputation, he refrained from taking action in the past. However, he suggested that he may no longer remain silent when similar rumours resurface.
He further questioned why individuals would intentionally spread misinformation, describing the behaviour as unnecessary and self-inflicted trouble.
“And now, my attention has been drawn to this. Why do people create problems for themselves??? What kind of human beings are these? Ok, we shall see,” he added.
The latest claim linking him to Yemi Alade quickly gained attention on social media before being debunked by the actor himself. Neither Godson nor Yemi Alade has confirmed any personal or romantic involvement connected to the allegation.
The situation adds to a growing trend of celebrity pregnancy rumours in the entertainment industry, many of which are often based on speculation and unverified online posts.
Fans have since reacted to Godson’s statement, with many urging the public to verify information before sharing it online, while others called for stricter accountability for those who spread false celebrity news.
As of now, both Mike Godson and Yemi Alade have maintained their positions, with the actor clearly denying any involvement in the alleged pregnancy story.
