Husband Allegedly Beats Wife to Death to Marry Pregnant Side Chick

According to a report by Ghpage on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, a shocking case of domestic violence has left many people in grief and anger after a husband was accused of torturing his wife to death so he could marry another woman said to be pregnant for him. The sad incident happened in Delta State, Nigeria, and has raised serious concerns about abuse in marriages.

The victim, Etunim Henrieta Ebere Sunday (née Eboma), was a mother of three from the Eboma family of Idumu-Oza Community in Agbor Kingdom, Ika South Local Government Area. Her death has thrown her family and community into deep mourning.

Speaking to Ika Newspaper, the head of the family, Mr Friday Eboma, expressed heavy sorrow over the painful loss. He alleged that Etunim suffered long years of domestic abuse in the hands of her husband, Mr Ebere Sunday, who is from Alisimie in Agbor. According to him, his daughter endured repeated beatings and harsh treatment throughout her marriage.

Family members said the abuse became worse in early 2026. The husband was accused of locking her inside their home and severely beating her with a belt, leaving her badly injured and unconscious. She was later rushed to the hospital where doctors tried to save her life.

Despite receiving treatment, her condition did not improve. She continued to struggle with the injuries she suffered until she sadly passed away on March 24, 2026.

Relatives believe the man wanted to remove his wife so he could marry another woman who was already pregnant for him. The couple’s children also reportedly confirmed that their father often beat their mother both at home and even in public places.

The tragic death has sparked anger in the community, with many people calling loudly for justice. The Eboma family has rejected any form of settlement and insists that the matter must be handled by the law.

This painful incident has once again highlighted the dangers of domestic violence. Many people are now encouraging victims to speak out early and seek help before it is too late, as authorities are expected to fully investigate the case.
