Blaqbonez Reveals Why He Rejected Don Jazzy’s $1m To Join Mavin Records

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has revealed why he turned down an alleged offer to join Mavin Records, owned by music executive Don Jazzy.

In a post shared on X page, Blaqbonez claimed the label once tried to sign him with a deal worth one million dollars.

According to him, he rejected the offer because he is not comfortable with constantly posting online or regularly interacting with fans on social media, which he believes is important for artists signed to major record labels.

The rapper joked that he prefers posting just once a year instead of always engaging followers online.

He also described himself as a “mysterious” person, stressing that his personality and lifestyle did not fit the level of visibility expected from artists under a big music label.

Need to get this off my chest before chanel drops, the reason I didn’t sign to mavin when they were begging me with a million dollars is cos i don’t really like posting, I prefer 1 tweet per year than engaging my fans, I’m too big for that, I’m mysterious,” he wrote.

His comments has sparked reactions online, with fans debating whether he truly turned down such a major deal and discussing the role social media plays in an artist’s career today.
