Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has secured another federal role after being appointed Co-Chairperson of the Entertainment Committee for the upcoming National Women Mega Empowerment Rally 2026.
The actress announced the development through her Instagram page, revealing that the programme is being organised by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs as part of efforts aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and social development across the country.
According to the announcement, the event is themed “The Power of 10 Million” and is expected to bring together women from different sectors under the message: “One Voice! One Movement!! One Choice!!!”
Expressing excitement over the appointment, Badmus described the opportunity as a great honour and appreciated the organisers for trusting her with the responsibility.
“I am deeply honoured to be a Co-Chairperson of the Entertainment Committee,” she wrote.
The actress also extended appreciation to Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, alongside the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Abbas Tajudeen, and the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, for their commitment to women-focused initiatives.
She praised their dedication to strengthening society and empowering women through impactful programmes and advocacy.
“This is more than a rally – it is a movement of purpose, unity, and national impact. Women Supporting Women – Always,” she added.
Eniola Badmus has remained visibly active in government-related engagements since openly supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 election campaign.
Following the election, she was appointed Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, a role that further increased her involvement in political and public service activities.
While confirming that earlier appointment, the actress thanked Speaker Tajudeen Abbas for giving her the opportunity to serve, stating that she felt privileged to work under his leadership.
In July last year, Badmus officially resumed her duties and later shared images from meetings attended alongside prominent government officials, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies in Abuja.
Over the past year, the actress has consistently used her social media platforms to promote messages centred on patriotism, national unity, and civic participation.
At one point, she encouraged Nigerians to walk in unity, pride, and purpose, reminding citizens that the future of the country depends on collective effort and commitment.
She also shared reflections during Nigeria’s independence anniversary celebrations, stating that Nigerians carry the spirit of the country wherever they go around the world.
According to her, seeing the Nigerian flag always inspires a sense of pride and hope for a better future.
Her latest appointment further strengthens her growing connection with public service and national campaigns, especially those focused on women empowerment and social impact.
The National Women Mega Empowerment Rally is expected to attract influential women from politics, entertainment, business, and advocacy groups as preparations continue for the large-scale event.
