Veteran Nigerian singer and producer J Martins has appealed to the former P-Square members, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, to settle their ongoing differences away from the public space.
His call follows recent developments involving Peter Okoye’s decision to celebrate his birthday separately from his twin brother, a move reportedly linked to allegations of betrayal involving Paul and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
Reacting to the situation, J Martins—who has maintained a long-standing professional and personal relationship with the duo—expressed concern over the public nature of the disagreement. He questioned the need for such a decision, suggesting it reflects deeper issues that should be handled privately.
“These are my brothers for more than two decades. I still don’t understand why one will just wake up decades to change his own birthday separate from his twin brother?” he wrote.
The music star emphasised that disputes of this magnitude should not be played out on social media, urging the brothers to prioritise dialogue and reconciliation behind closed doors.
He also warned that the ongoing public fallout could have broader cultural implications, particularly in how it portrays their shared identity and background.
“@PeterPSquare and RudeboyPsquare can we fix these stuff inside our house and bring this shame on ‘Ndi Igbo nke anyi’,” he added.
J Martins’ remarks highlight growing concerns within the entertainment industry over the prolonged rift between the Okoye brothers, whose split has continued to attract public attention years after the group’s breakup.
