Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has addressed widespread rumours suggesting he and his wife, Simi, welcomed twins, clarifying that the couple actually had a baby boy.
The music star made the clarification during an appearance on Great Day Houston, a morning television programme aired on KHOU 11 in Houston, Texas.
During the interview, the show host referenced online reports claiming that the celebrity couple had “welcomed twins in early March.” However, Adekunle Gold immediately corrected the statement.
“Not even twins. That’s the internet, by the way. We have a son,” he said.
The revelation has now put an end to months of speculation that circulated across social media earlier this year.
Adekunle Gold and Simi, who are already parents to a daughter, have largely kept details about their family life private despite their popularity in the entertainment industry.
While speaking on the show, the singer also opened up about what it is like being married to another successful musician and songwriter. According to him, their relationship allows them to creatively inspire each other at home.
“It’s interesting to be married to another fantastic songwriter. We bounce off ideas in the home,” he explained.
The singer further revealed that their six-year-old daughter has already begun showing signs of musical interest, suggesting that creativity runs strongly within the family.
Beyond discussing his family life, Adekunle Gold also spoke about his latest music project titled Fuji Xtra, which he said was released on the same night as the interview.
According to the artiste, his current sound revolves around what he describes as “electrofuji” — a fusion of traditional Fuji music influences with modern contemporary sounds.
The rumours surrounding twins originally gained momentum after Adekunle Gold shared a Snapchat post earlier in the year that many fans interpreted as a pregnancy announcement involving twins.
The post read: “Asked God for another child and He blessed me double,” and was accompanied by a photo showing two baby outfits with the inscription “Double Trouble.”
Following the post, social media users quickly speculated that the couple had welcomed twins, leading to widespread reports online.
However, the singer’s latest comments have now clarified the situation, confirming that the family welcomed a baby boy instead.
Fans have since flooded social media with congratulatory messages for the couple, celebrating the latest addition to their family while also reacting to the singer’s humorous dismissal of the twin rumours.
