Actress Linda Ejiofor has opened up about one of the toughest moments in her Nollywood journey, revealing that there was a time she believed her acting career had stopped progressing.
The movie star shared her experience during a recent conversation with her husband and fellow actor Ibrahim Suleiman, where she reflected on the emotional struggles she faced a few years ago before her recent breakthrough success.
According to Linda, she battled uncertainty and quietly questioned whether she was still moving forward professionally. She explained that around three years ago, she found herself praying for a major opportunity that could reignite her passion and give her career new direction.
The actress said the difficult season pushed her to rely heavily on faith, adding that she asked God for a sign that better things were ahead. In response, she eventually landed roles in two projects that would later transform her career.
Linda also praised her husband for constantly motivating her during that challenging period. She disclosed that Ibrahim remained confident in her abilities even when she struggled to believe in herself. His encouragement, she said, helped her remain hopeful while waiting for her breakthrough moment.
Her story took a dramatic turn at the 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards held in Lagos, where she emerged as one of the biggest winners of the night.
The actress clinched the Best Lead Actress award for her role in The Serpent’s Gift and also won Best Supporting Actress for The Herd. The achievement placed her in the history books as the first actress to secure both acting categories during the same ceremony.
The Serpent’s Gift, directed by Kayode Kasum, explored themes surrounding culture, inheritance and family traditions, while The Herd marked the directorial debut of actor Daniel Etim Effiong.
Linda’s emotional reflection has since inspired many fans online, with several people praising her patience and resilience. Many social media users noted that her success serves as a reminder that careers can experience slow seasons before major breakthroughs eventually arrive.
The actress first gained widespread attention through the popular TV series Tinsel before becoming more recognised for her performance in The Meeting. Her role in the movie earned her early industry recognition and helped establish her as one of Nollywood’s respected talents.
Despite the recent awards and praise, Linda’s comments showed that even successful actors sometimes deal with self-doubt behind the scenes. Her latest revelation has further strengthened admiration for her journey, especially among younger actors trying to build careers in the competitive Nigerian film industry.
