Tumininu, the estranged partner of former BBNaija star Angel Smith, has taken legal steps to dissolve their marriage, calling for an annulment while making a series of allegations about their relationship.
Details from a legal filing circulating online show that Tumininu is seeking to formally end the union and recover funds she claims to have spent during their time together. In the suit, she alleged that she played a major role in supporting Angel after bringing her to the United States, covering both financial responsibilities and household needs.
According to Tumininu, the relationship began to deteriorate due to what she described as troubling behaviour, which she said eventually led her to involve Angel’s mother.
She further claimed that their marriage was rushed due to Angel’s legal situation in the US, suggesting it was partly done to help her remain in the country.
Tumininu also accused the reality star of keeping questionable company, alleging that Angel associates with individuals she considers dangerous, including a friend who was recently released from prison.
As part of her demands, Tumininu is seeking the return of $40,000, payment of $8,000 as compensation for emotional distress, and the signing of annulment documents. She also requested a formal agreement to ensure she would not be implicated in any immigration-related issues or future financial obligations tied to Angel.
She stated that her goal is to resolve the matter amicably, recover what she believes belongs to her, and move on.
In addition, Tumininu alleged that Angel transferred her money to a new partner’s account and warned that failure to return the funds could result in police involvement and possible deportation proceedings.
The situation appears to have escalated rapidly, as Tumininu recently made it clear during a Snapchat exchange that reconciliation is no longer an option, describing the marriage as “dead on arrival.”
The controversy follows reports that the couple’s relationship began to unravel shortly after their wedding, with tensions surfacing barely weeks into the union. A viral clip showing Tumininu in a relaxed setting with another woman further fueled speculation about cracks in the marriage.
Angel also contributed to the online buzz with cryptic posts on Instagram, hinting at a possible breakup and suggesting she was ready to move on.
Tumininu, in separate social media posts, accused Angel of infidelity, alleging that she was involved with another woman she met through a dating platform. She also claimed to have spent significant amounts on Angel, including over $100,000 since her arrival in the US and an additional $50,000 on her birthday.
Leaked conversations circulating online appear to show both parties expressing dissatisfaction with the relationship. In one exchange, Angel reportedly questioned certain financial decisions, including the purchase of a car, while also referencing a lack of emotional connection.
Another conversation allegedly showed Tumininu raising concerns about intimacy and asking if Angel wanted to end the marriage.
The dispute has also drawn in Angel’s family, with Tumininu accusing her mother of encouraging the marriage for immigration purposes. She further alleged that she was pressured into the union, though she later distanced herself from those claims.
In the midst of the fallout, Tumininu revealed that she has retrieved some luxury items she previously gifted to Angel, including a Rolex watch and an engagement ring.
As the situation continues to unfold, both parties remain at the centre of a highly publicised dispute involving allegations of infidelity, financial disagreements, and the breakdown of a short-lived marriage.
