Gumi Said Everywhere He Went To Meet With The Bandits, The DSS, Police, And NDI Were With Him — Tanko

Dr. Yinusa Tanko, the National Coordinator for the Obidient Movement, spoke with Symfoni TV in a recent interview about a number of important problems impacting Nigeria. His speech covered topics such as the nation’s security architecture, the need for legitimate governance, and the importance of reestablishing public trust in government institutions.

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi’s supposed comments elicited a vehement reaction from Tanko. Tanko stated that such assertions raise significant worries about how the nation’s main security agencies interact with criminal groups during Gumi’s heated discussions with bandits, which included members of the Nigerian Police, the DSS, and the NDI. He stressed that these remarks shouldn’t be taken lightly because they call into question the fairness and integrity of the institutions tasked with protecting citizens.

He stated that a deeper breakdown in leadership and accountability is indicated when powerful individuals are able to move freely among armed groups with official support. He sees Nigeria’s security situation not as a criminal problem but as a sign of poor planning, ineffective tactics, and a lack of coordinated national leadership.

Tanko also addressed the economic difficulties facing the nation, warning that insecurity will worsen if productivity continues to decline. He advocated for improving local governance structures, asserting that it would help lower poverty rates, reduce crime, and raise the value of the naira by boosting local production.

He ended by encouraging leaders to conduct themselves honestly and responsibly. According to Tanko, for rekindling hope and guaranteeing the nation’s future security, it is necessary to have open communication, efficient inter-agency coordination, and a dedication to long-term policy stability.
